GMC released new information about their upcoming Sierra 1500 full-size pickup truck. The most important announcement is that the AT4X off-roader will now come with a standard Duramax 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-6 engine. If you prefer, you can also opt for the 6.2-liter V-8 gas engine instead.

The 2023 model year has a diesel engine that gives you 305 horse power and 495 pounds of torque. You can also get a V-8 engine that produces 420 horsepower and 460 pounds of torque. Both engines work with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

In 2024, the related Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will have the option to get the diesel engine in the ZR2 off-roader version too.

In 2024, the GMC Sierra 1500 lineup is getting some updates. That includes new wheel designs and colors (Downpour Metallic and Thunderstorm Gray). Denali, Denali Ultimate, AT4, AT4X, and SLT grades will have an active exhaust option. The same five grades can also get power side steps. Another change that GMC announced is TurboMax branding for its 2.7-liter turbo-4 engine with 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. With the right setup, this engine can tow up to 9,500 pounds.

This summer, you can get the new 2024 GMC Sierra 1500! Prices will be announced at a later date.
