Prepare to be captivated by the McMurtry Spéirling, an extraordinary electric track car crafted by a small British startup that surpasses the prowess of most prestigious supercars. Now, the opportunity to own this masterpiece awaits you.

McMurtry is embarking on the production of a limited run of 100 customer cars, known as the Spéirling Pure, with prices starting at £820,000 or $1.04 million at the current exchange rates. As per the company’s press release, pre-production is set to commence in 2024, followed by deliveries in 2025. Unfortunately, there is no information available at this time regarding availability in the United States.

Cadillac XT4 Overview

While the company had previously expressed intentions for a road-ready version of the Spéirling, the Spéirling Pure appears to be predominantly tailored for exhilarating track experiences. It incorporates the majority of features from the original Spéirling engineering demonstrator, which renowned racing driver Max Chilton utilized to establish a record-breaking time of 39.08 seconds at the 2022 Goodwood Hill Climb.

One notable feature is the groundbreaking fan-powered ground-effects system, touted by McMurtry as an unprecedented achievement in commercially available cars. Working in conjunction with sealing skirts, this innovative system generates low pressure beneath the vehicle, firmly anchoring it to the track and delivering an astounding 3g of grip during cornering, even at manageable speeds.

With a remarkable peak output of 1,000 horsepower, the Spéirling Pure channels its power to the rear wheels, all within a vehicle weighing less than 2,200 pounds. This combination of formidable power and lightweight construction enabled the original Spéirling prototype to achieve mind-boggling figures: a 0-60 mph sprint in 1.4 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 7.97 seconds. While precise figures for the Spéirling Pure are yet to be released by McMurtry, the company proudly states that new gearing allows for a top speed of 190 mph.

The Spéirling Pure retains the 60-kWh battery capacity of its initial prototype but incorporates a new thermal management system. Additionally, weight reductions of 3% and 15.5% have been achieved through modifications to the cells, pack casing, and various other components, such as the wiring loom, wheels, braking system, pedal box, and power steering unit.

McMurtry plans to commence testing a validation prototype of the Spéirling Pure in the United Kingdom and Europe later this year, coupled with a campaign to set new records.
