The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is an upcoming car, and recently it was confirmed that there’ll be a special version of this type called the “Bison”. On Saturday, at the media drive for the 2023 Colorado ZR2, a camouflaged prototype of the Bison version was rolled into Hall Racing USA parking lot. Although its body was hidden by camouflage, we could identify some changes made to it by American Expedition Vehicles. However, Chevrolet spokespeople refused to comment on it.
The ZR2 Bison had 17-inch wheels with 35-inch tires made by Goodyear called DuraTrac. These tires were bigger than the tires on the 2023 Colorado ZR2 which only have 33-inch Goodyear Territory Mud Terrain tires.
The Bison has special, extra-durable skid plates and has recovery hooks. It also has hydraulic bump stops with the Chevrolet Performance label on them. The prototype had a spare tire attached in the back of its cab and an aluminum driveshaft which is different from the steel version you can get especially for the ZR2 from Chevrolet Performance Parts.
The interior of the special Bison model had a unique pattern on its cloth seats, and all the details like trim, stitches in yellow color, dashboard design and controls were the same as what you would find in the regular ZR2 vehicle. It was so popular that the company needed to make more of them to meet everyone’s demand. We don’t know when this new Colorado ZR2 Bison will arrive, but there is a newer version available – which is called Silverado 2500 HD ZR2 Bison – that came out last week.
