General Motors (GM) disclosed on Monday the commencement of deliveries for the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV, also providing an update on the launch timeline.
The Blazer EV will be available in several models: LT, RS, SS, and a Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV). The RS AWD model will be the first to be produced, with a starting price of $60,215 before destination, boasting a GM-projected range of 279 miles. The first batch of these vehicles is expected to reach dealers in August. All production will take place in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, the manufacturing location for the gasoline Blazer.
The Chevrolet Blazer 2024 EV RS
Models RS RWD and 2LT AWD, priced at $61,790 and $56,715 respectively, will follow, with production beginning in the autumn. Both models have the same projected range as the RS AWD at 279 miles, except for the RS RWD which is expected to offer 320 miles. A front-wheel-drive 2LT model, anticipated for launch in 2024, is expected to deliver 293 miles per charge.
The 2LT AWD model, which is less expensive, comes with features such as a 17.7-inch touchscreen, an 11.0-inch digital instrument cluster, synthetic leather upholstery, and wireless smartphone charging, among others. The RS AWD model adds a variety of features, such as 21-inch wheels and a head-up display, whereas the RS RWD model includes a Bose audio system.
The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV
GM also confirmed the Blazer EV SS’s delayed production schedule, now set for Spring 2024. The more sporty Blazer EV will feature a sport suspension, 557 hp, and 667 lb-ft of torque, achieving a sub-4.0-second 0-60 mph time in a mode Chevy dubs Wide Open Watts. At the Blazer EV’s reveal last summer, Chevy set the SS model’s starting price at $65,996.
The Blazer EV PPV is still expected to roll out in early 2024. The timeline for the remaining models, including the base 1LT and front-wheel-drive versions of the 2LT and RS, will be announced closer to their 2024 launch dates.
Last summer, Chevy announced a starting price of $44,995 for the 1LT, with the 2LT and RS starting at $47,595 and $51,995 respectively. These prices, significantly lower than Monday’s announced prices for the AWD and RWD models, are likely for the front-wheel-drive versions and may increase by the time of launch. Chevy is charging $1,575 more for the RWD compared to the AWD, hence the full $9,120 price difference between last year’s 2LT quote and Monday’s is unlikely to be solely due to the change to front-wheel drive. The Blazer EV could potentially be the first vehicle ever available in front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive options.

That SS model with sub-4.0-second 0-60 time, sounds fun. Bit disappointed at the delay though… well, hope it’s worth the wait!
omg, $60k+ for a startin model? That’s steep… hoping the base model price holds true at around 45k. Still want to test drive though, sounds like a beast!
I’m tellin’ ya, this electric SUV stuff is really taking off, eh? Can’t wait to see this Blazer EV in action on the roads! Bring it on, Chevy!
279 miles of range isn’t half bad. Let’s hope GM delivers on this one! Kinda excited to see the RS RWD model, 320 miles sounds good.
So production’s happening in Mexico huh? Interesting… Let’s hope the quality checks are up to mark.
This could be a gamechanger, especially if it’s the first vehicle to offer front, rear and all-wheel drive! Super cool!
