Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Roadster revealed, costs $3M

Hennessey has recently unveiled the latest addition to their lineup, the Venom F5 Revolution Roadster, a high-performance open-top hypercar boasting an impressive 1,817 horsepower.

Despite its staggering $3 million price tag, all twelve available production slots for this model have been claimed. The official introduction of the car is scheduled for the upcoming 2023 Monterey Car Week, where it will make its first appearance at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering on August 18. Notably, a limited edition bare carbon finish will be showcased, with only five of these examples planned.

This release follows the previous unveiling of the Venom F5 Roadster with the same horsepower figure a year ago. However, the Revolution version brings enhancements optimized for track performance, including increased downforce, reduced weight, a revamped suspension, and a new roof scoop to channel air to the engine.

Similar upgrades were implemented on the Venom F5 Revolution coupe, showcased earlier in January, which comes with a price of $2.7 million. A production run of 24 coupes is planned, and they are also expected to be sold out.

Hennessey has not shared specific performance metrics, but they did mention that the top speed of the Venom F5 Revolution coupe is expected to be slightly below 300 mph. This limitation is due to the added drag resulting from aerodynamic elements designed to generate essential downforce, such as the rear wing.

Hennessey’s ambition is to surpass the 300 mph threshold with their standard Venom F5 coupe. However, the fastest recorded speed by the company so far is 271.6 mph. This falls close to the existing land speed record of 282.9 mph, set by the SSC Tuatara in 2021. Bugatti’s Chiron Super Sport 300+ reached 304.773 mph in 2019, though it’s not considered an official world record due to the lack of the required second run in the opposite direction.

Under the hood of the Venom F5 Revolution Roadster lies a unique twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V-8 engine developed specifically by Hennessey. This powerplant, positioned mid-vehicle, channels its output to the rear wheels through an automated manual transmission, likely utilizing the same CIMA 7-speed single-clutch design found in other Venom F5 variants. The engine is situated beneath a detachable carbon panel equipped with carefully crafted heat extraction holes and a glass window that’s four times stronger than regular annealed glass, according to Hennessey.

The initial unit, custom-built for a special client, showcases the exquisite bare carbon finish and the intricate handcrafted exposed carbon-fiber weave.
