The Chevrolet Corvette Z06, a symbol of American sports car excellence, has once again entered the fray as a finalist for the Best Car To Buy award. This nomination follows the success of the C8 Corvette, crowned AutoMotorMart Best Car To Buy in 2021, and the C7 Corvette ZR1, which won the same title in 2019. Chevrolet is now eyeing a third consecutive win in this prestigious competition.

Equipped with a 5.5-liter V-8 engine, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 boasts performance characteristics akin to those found in high-end Italian sports cars, propelling the Corvette into a higher echelon of automotive excellence.

The Corvette Z06 is powered by a flat-plane crank LT6 V-8 engine, delivering an impressive 670 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful naturally aspirated production V-8 in history. Tested on a dyno, it generated 610 hp and 419 lb-ft of torque at the wheels.
The engine’s performance is noteworthy not just for its power but also for its distinctive sound and high-revving nature. It emits an exhilarating scream, especially as it approaches the 8,600-rpm redline. Senior Editor Kirk Bell highlighted the engine’s sound and fury, complementing its exotic style.
Despite not matching the last-gen Corvette ZR1’s top speed of 212 mph, the new Z06 impresses with a top speed of 195 mph. It boasts a 0-60 mph acceleration time of just 2.6 seconds and completes a quarter-mile in 10.
