The 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB has been unveiled, set to arrive in showrooms during the first half of the upcoming year as a model for 2024. This updated version introduces several subtle design adjustments, novel technological features, and retains the trio of powertrains found in the present EQB model. These powertrains continue to be categorized as EQB 250+, EQB 300 4Matic, and EQB 350 4Matic.

Although specific pricing details have not yet been disclosed, it’s useful to note that the starting price for the 2023 EQB commenced at $53,900, inclusive of a destination charge amounting to $1,150.

The EQB stands as an electric variant of the GLB-Class compact crossover, possessing the capacity to accommodate up to seven occupants—making it an optimal choice for small families. The vehicle’s flexibility extends to its cargo space, which can reach a maximum of 60.4 cubic feet when the seats are folded down.

Regarding its visual updates, the refreshed EQB echoes the design adjustments executed across the entire updated 2024 GLB-Class lineup. These enhancements include a fresh frontal fascia design, novel wheel patterns, and the incorporation of standard LEDs. Notably, the EQB distinguishes itself from its gas-powered counterparts through the incorporation of a new black panel sporting a star pattern in lieu of the conventional grille.

Within the vehicle’s interior, a unified pane of glass houses 10.3-inch displays for both the instrument cluster and infotainment system. The infotainment interface, powered by Mercedes’ MBUX technology, offers voice activation capabilities and supports Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Furthermore, an optional Burmester audio system, featuring Dolby Atmos, is available to enhance the auditory experience. The steering wheel has also undergone a redesign for the 2024 model.

Under the hood, the EQB 250+ entry-level grade employs a single-motor front-wheel-drive configuration, capable of generating a maximum of 188 horsepower. In contrast, the higher grades are equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup, delivering peak outputs of 225 and 288 horsepower, respectively.

A standardized 70.5-kwh battery is featured across all variants. Although specific EPA range estimates have not yet been disclosed, it is worth noting that the 2023 EQB, equipped with the same battery, was approximated to achieve a range of up to 245 miles within its most efficient EQB 250+ configuration.

Notably, the 2024 iteration introduces the Plug & Charge function, streamlining the charging process at compatible stations. When the charging cable is connected, the charging commences automatically, facilitated by direct communication between the vehicle and the charging station through the cable. The navigation system or the Mercedes Me Connect app can be utilized to locate compatible charging stations.

Furthermore, the updated EQB incorporates what Mercedes refers to as “Sound Experiences.” These auditory cues include various sounds that accompany actions such as approaching and entering the vehicle, locking and exiting it, and even during the vehicle’s operation. Customization of these sound effects can be managed through the infotainment system.
