Ford has tapped racing driver Romain Dumas to pilot its new Pro Electric Supervan up Pikes Peak in 2023. The Frenchman set a blistering time of 7:57.148 behind the wheel of a Volkswagen ID.R electric time attack special in 2018, putting him in contention to become the first person to drive up the mountain in an all-electric vehicle. Dumas is no stranger to Pikes Peak; he’s previously raced in a Ford Focus RS WRC car. If he fares well this year, he may even break the record for the fastest time up the mountain in an electric vehicle.
Romain Dumas is a professional driver who will pilot a 1,972-hp Ford Supervan up Pikes Peak this June. This event is sure to be exciting, and Dumas is the perfect person to lead the way. His experience and skill are sure to make the drive up the mountain an unforgettable experience.
