This week, Porsche unveiled an upgraded version of the Cayenne at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show. This new model will be available in U.S. car dealerships soon as a 2024 model. You can buy either the regular Cayenne or its Coupe version. For both models, you will need to pay $80,850 and $85,950 respectively plus an extra fee of $1,650 for delivery costs.
Last month, the head of finances and IT of Porsche said that the company increased their prices to make more profit. The new 2023 Cayenne cost at least $73,000!
Porsche have made some really cool changes to the Cayenne that you’ll find really useful, like Matrix LED headlights and keyless entry. Plus there’s a wireless charging pad for phones and multiple driver-assist features. Plus the updates include changes to the powertrain, chassis, outside looks and even inside! On top of all that, you get 20-inch wheels (22 inches on the Turbo GT version).
The outside of the car has been updated with new LED headlights that look different and shine brighter than before. The taillights and front and back bumpers also have a new style, plus there are three new colors available for the car – Algarve Blue Metallic, Montego Blue Metallic and Arctic Gray – as well as different wheels to choose from.
The SUV has a modern digital control center, instead of the traditional analog gauges. It consists of a 12.7-inch monitor for the driver and a 12.3-inch screen for streaming content and other activities which the driver cannot see. Moreover, the gear stick has been placed near the steering wheel instead of its previous place, which was on the middle of the console.
Porsche recently added a steel spring suspension on its base, S, and E-Hybrid grade vehicles. The new dampers have special technology with two valves which makes the ride smoother while driving slow and at the same time gives a better balance when going faster. For the cars with air suspension, they can now choose between 3 driving modes – Normal, Sport, or Sport Plus – to make their trip more comfortable.
The powertrains of the car consist of a big, turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine and a more powerful electric motor for the E-Hybrid plug-in hybrid version. The engine was updated to have 348 hp, 13 hp more than before. Furthermore, the battery was upgraded to be bigger with 25.9 kWh from 17.9 kWh, which means that it can now go much farther when using all electric power.
The S model of V-8 has a twin-turbo V-8 engine that produces 468 horsepower which is 34 more horsepower compared to the older V-6 engine. The Turbo GT (only in the Cayenne Coupe) has an even more powerful engine that can pump out 650 horses and make it go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 189 miles per hour. This makes it the most powerful version of Cayenne available in the United States.
The Cayenne for 2024 can now be bought. It will arrive sometime in the summer.
To keep things new, Porsche will release a fourth-generation of the Cayenne but this one will use electric power instead of gas and this might happen around 2026. For a short time, people can still buy the regular gas version before it’s replaced with the electric one.
