Porsche is working on their most significant car yet – an electric SUV with three rows of seats! They are planning to use this as “flagship” model, which means they believe it will be very popular. This goes with Porsche’s strategy called Road to 20; the goal being to make more money than before by selling higher-end models like the new SUV.

Last July, the CEO of Porsche, Oliver Blume, talked about a new SUV vehicle at an annual meeting. He said it looks like Porsche’s 911 car but with a unique interior design and automated driving functions. They even showed everyone a little teaser shot to give us an idea of what the car will look like.

Porsche is building a new kind of vehicle which will be called the SSP Sport. It’s going to have some parts that are similar to pieces from Volkswagen Group, like the same battery and computer software used in different cars from lots of different car manufacturers.

The Sport version of the SSP is set to have lots of powerful tech, such as an incredible battery, a super-fast 920 volts electric system, and oil-cooled motors. It will be assembled in Porsche’s Leipzig plant – which already produces the Panamera and Macan – plus the electric Macan crossover.

Porsche hasn’t said when exactly yet, but the electric Macan will arrive in 2024, followed by an electric 718 sports car around 2025. Then, the electric Cayenne will arrive some time after that, likely in 2026, and after that in 2027, the company’s flagship SUV will be released.
