Formula 1 and Red Bull Racing are selling a super-expensive racing simulator that looks exactly like the 2022 championship-winning car, the Red Bull RB18.
This isn’t a machine that Formula 1 teams use to build better cars or to help their drivers practice. Instead, it was created as something special and cool that people can buy. It was made with data from Red Bull’s CAD and crafted the same way real F1 cars are made. You can find it at F1 Authentics, which is the official place for F1 collectibles!
The simulator looks and feels like the inside of a Red Bull Racing car, RB18. You see a curved screen in front and have access to special features such as force feedback steering wheel with easy-to-remove quick release, THX surround sound and adjustable pedals. You can also choose specific design (livery) for either of F1 drivers from Red Bull: Max Verstappen or Sergio Perez.
In 2022, new design rules gave F1 cars a very different look. Red Bull’s Adrian Newey-designed RB18 was the top car and they won in 17 out of 22 races, making them the team champion for the first time since 2013, ending Mercedes’ 8 year winning streak. Max Verstappen defended his 2021 driver title with a record 15 wins and he was crowned the 2022 F1 Champion at the Japanese Grand Prix.
F1 and Red Bull have created two new simulator versions that can be purchased. The basic Race Edition costs $92,177 with the Champions Edition having an extra front-wing assembly for a total of $122,903. That’s about as much as you’d pay for a really cool Porsche 911 but getting something like this F1 racer will give people who don’t work at Red Bull the chance to get their hands on one.
