Fisker Ocean Commences U.S. Deliveries in June, Offering a Range of 360 Miles
According to an investor update released on Wednesday, Fisker has confirmed that the Fisker Ocean will begin deliveries in the United States during the week starting June 19. This compact electric crossover has been in production since late last year and was introduced to the European market in May. Fisker stated that receiving certification from the EPA and CARB were the final steps required for the vehicle’s arrival in the U.S.
Henrik Fisker, CEO and founder of Fisker, expressed excitement about getting the Fisker Ocean SUVs into the hands of American customers. He acknowledged their patience throughout the regulatory process and emphasized that the company is now entering a new phase in its history.
The Fisker Ocean is available in three grades: Sport, Ultra, and Extreme. The EPA has rated the Extreme grade, equipped with standard 20-inch wheels, to have a range of up to 360 miles. This grade features a 113-kWh capacity battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain with a rating of 550 hp.
On the other end of the spectrum, the base Sport grade comes with a single-motor front-wheel-drive powertrain offering 275 hp. While Fisker has not disclosed battery details or an EPA range estimate for this grade, the company estimates a range of 250 miles. Similarly, there is no EPA range estimate for the Ultra grade, but it is expected to have a range similar to the Extreme grade’s 360 miles, as both versions feature the same 113-kWh battery.
The Fisker Ocean is set to arrive in the U.S. as a 2023 model, and currently, only the Extreme grade is available for ordering, starting at $68,999 before the destination charge. The Sport and Ultra grades are priced from $37,499 and $49,999, respectively, but Fisker has not specified when these grades will be available for ordering. Additionally, Fisker is preparing a Force E off-road upgrade for the Ocean, although its availability remains unknown.
Production of the Fisker Ocean takes place at a facility in Austria, operated by contract manufacturer Magna Steyr, which also provided the platform and contributed to the development of the vehicle.
