Around two years ago, Kia revealed the EV9 concept vehicle. This week, it finally showed us what the car actually looks like!

On Tuesday, Kia released the EV9 design and shared some features about it through photos.

The EV9 is scheduled to be unveiled later in March, and much of its design will stay loyal to the concept car that was shown off at 2021’s Los Angeles auto show. It has a huge, boxy outline with extra panels and sharp edges. The top of the car sticks up high near the back, making it look unique from other cars. According to execs from Motor Authority, the EV9 is basically 90% similar in appearance to what we saw from the concept model at the auto show. Even though the wheel design looks a bit different, it still resembles what was revealed then.

The Kia electric cars from now on will have LED lights in the front and back which will give them a unique look. The daytime running lights at the front of these cars create a cool-looking lighting pattern that looks amazing.

The interior of the EV9 is like most other cars, but with some added electric parts. On the dashboard, you’ll find three screens: a 5-inch display with two 12.3 inch digital instruments either side and all together under one sheet of glass. Kia says it improves your experience behind the wheel and can be used to setup different driver profiles and details which are controlled using both the touchscreen and touch-sensitive buttons on the dashboard.

Kia said that the EV9 has enough seating for either six or seven people. You can either choose to have a second-row bench seat or captain’s chairs, which can turn up to 180 degrees so all the passengers in the second and third rows can talk with each other. Plus, you can also twist the second-row seats so people will have an easy time getting in and out of the car.

The front and middle rows of Kia’s EV9 vehicle have amazing reclining seats so you can relax while the car is being charged. Plus, the back and middle rows of this vehicle can fold flat, creating a ton of room for carrying stuff (though we don’t yet know how big this space is).

This car runs on the super advanced E-GMP platform – it has an 800-volt electrical system that allows fast charging, plus two-way charging and connecting with a power grid.

At the 2022 New York Auto Show, Kia America’s Chief Operating Officer Steven Center said that the EV9 electric vehicle needs to have at least 300 miles of range. The cost between it and their Telluride model will be around $15,000, so the starting price would be around $50,000 for the EV9.
