This summer, Audi is releasing the 2024 Q8 E-Tron for sale! It costs $75,495 and is an upgraded version of its predecessor. That’s more expensive than last year’s E-Tron which cost $71,995 but it’s worth it because you get more range. If you’re into a sporty look, the Sportback E-Tron costs $78,895. Remember that all of these prices include shipping fees.
The original E-Tron was released in 2019, but it did not have a good battery life — only 204 miles. For 2021 models, the range got slightly better with 222 miles. Other EVs had more than 300 miles of range back then.
The EPA has yet to check how far the Q8 E-Tron and Q8 Sportback E-Tron can travel, but Audi said that the Sportback should be able to go about 300 miles with its new 114-kwh battery.
The new charge could be up to 170 kw and that means you can get your electric car battery charged from 10-80% in around 30 minutes. Best part? Audi is offering free fast charging for two years with the Electrify America network.
At first, Audi’s new SUV will have a dual-motor powertrain that give it 402 horsepower. That much power is enough to get from 0-60 mph in five seconds or less. Later in the year, an even faster model called SQ8 will be released – this one has three motors and 496 horsepower, which can make it really fast!
The power that the E-Tron produces remains the same, but changes have been made to help it become more efficient. To do this, Audi has replaced some of the motors with 14 coils that are used to create an electromagnetic field, as opposed to 12 previously. This will increase its strength and power, but if not needed then it won’t use up as much energy.
The outside of the Audi has minor changes, like new bumpers and a slimmer Audi logo. There are also ‘active shutters’ on the front that help reduce drag while driving. Audi states that this car is 6% less draggy than previous models.
The inside of the car has gone through lots of little changes. They’ve added new materials, like special trim pieces and used recycled materials more often. There’s also something called ‘four-zone climate control’, which means you can keep different temperatures in different parts of the vehicle. On top of that, there are two screens to help with controlling the infotainment system and comfort settings – not to mention a digital instrument cluster for the driver!
The Q8 E-Tron car from Audi comes with a lot of cool features like air suspension, LED headlights, super sound system by Bang & Olufsen, a glass roof, four-zone climate control and wheel sizes as big as 22 inches. It’s made in Brussels at an Audi plant that uses renewable energy which makes the production process “carbon neutral” (no extra carbon emissions!), so you can enjoy the car guilt free!
Audi is getting ready to make changes to the gas-powered Q8 model. It isn’t clear if this version will be available in the United States, but there could be a new name for it too.
